On Saturday dozens of young Highland dancers kicked it up in the Kate E. Shaw Memorial Highland dance competition at the Memorial Centre Gymnasium. The event, in memory of Kate E. Shaw, who dedicated her life to highland dancing, attracted dancers from across the region to Greater Trail. Above and clockwise; Madelaine McLeod from Kimberly, and Andraya Lok from Trail high step through the sword competition. Max Atkins of Kelowna impressed judges with his routine. Meanwhile, 15-year-old Taylor Jacques relaxes to her Ipod music in preparation for her event.
