Eileen Pedersen was walking along Riverside Avenue on the Casino side of the Old Trail Bridge last week when she spotted this worse-for-wear mailbox in the river close to the shore.

“The water is so low now,” she says. “It’s so strange to see a rusted out mailbox standing there, upright in the Columbia! Could it be that the receding river level revealed it? Is there mail in it? How long ago did it end up in the river and when?”

While the Trail Times couldn’t answer her questions, and the box appears very old and rusted out, we jest, “Anyone remember missing some mail?”
