A new face has joined the Trail Daily Times team.
Tessa Clayton is a journalism student from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alta, who will be joining the editorial department this summer.
Fresh from a semester abroad in Puerto Rico, she is eager to put her journalism skills back to work.
Clayton will be entering the last year of her degree this fall and worked for local papers in Alberta the past two summers.
She accepted the position with the Times to further her newsroom experience and work for a daily paper.
She said she’s very excited about this opportunity and looks forward to getting out in the community.
When she’s not chasing up stories or snapping photos, Clayton plans to hit the bike trails and soak up the B.C. heat. An avid sports fan, she’s also looking forward to watching the Canucks try to bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada – and what better place for that than hockey-loving Trail.
