Warm weather and a festive environment made this year’s Canada Day celebration at the Kiwanis Beaver Creek Park a tremendous success.
Cake, camaraderie and colourful displays were the main themes of the day filled with patriotism.
The red and white crowd of 150 joined in as fan favourites ‘North of 60’ belted out a stirring rendition of “O Canada.”
Following the anthem, two appropriately Canadian cakes were served. City of Trail Mayor Dieter Bogs and MP Alex Atamanenko helped out by cutting the first piece.
As North of 60 continued its set all through the afternoon, partygoers were treated to a bit of everything.
The Lower Columbia All First Nations provided some vibrant and entertaining traditional dances, songs and activities during the day.
The Kiwanis Club members were busy with a food-filled day on Friday.
A pancake breakfast started bright and early and was followed immediately by a BBQ, which carried on all afternoon.
A wide variety of talented local artists and craftsman showed off their work at the annual craft fair.
The Trail Parks and Recreation face-painting booth had a steady stream of eager customers ready to celebrate Canada Day.
