Speaker to share tales about northern life

TRAIL — At the St. Francis/St. Anthony’s CWL March meeting, correspondence included a thank-you from the Abenante family for the luncheon served in honour of Olinto Abenante and a card of thanks from the Gifts of Hope committee for the gifts donated during Christmas.

Under new business, the ladies agreed to participate in the Lenten “Losers” Challenge, a friendly competition to see which CWL as a group registers the most weight loss -  healthfully that is!

The group will also host the first soup and bun luncheon during Lent on Wednesday, March 16, after the noon Mass at St. Anthony’s.  Proceeds from these luncheons will be donated to Development and Peace.

Mary Austin gave a most  enlightening reading on the life of St. Catherine of Alexandria, patroness of young maidens, childbirth and                    scholars.

The April meeting will be on April 5 at 6:30 p.m. followed by guest speaker, Terry Jesudason, who has lived in the north and will speak of her experiences at that time.

Everyone is invited to this presentation which will begin at 7:30 p.m.  after a short meeting.
