With springtime coming to the valley, Trail Blazers is embracing the great outdoors.
“Here at the archives, we have many firsthand accounts of picnickers and hikers from days of old,” explains Addison Oberg, Trail archivist. “It was considered good for the health to get outside into nature, so outdoor excursions were not only practical, but fashionable.”
After a very long winter, we can understand the need for fresh air, she adds.
“Here is a group out for a small hunt and picnic near Murphy Creek circa 1899.”
