You could say that Larry Womacks is a guy who doesn’t mind going the extra mile. The retired plumber and Atco Sawmill planer man now volunteers much of his free time to drive people to and from their medical appointments. But when one of his regular clients needed a new set of faucets installed and was unable to do it himself, Larry happily gathered his tools and did the job for him.

A little rain on Wednesday didn’t spoil the day for Trail Parks and Recreation’s Camp Cawabunga as the group did a tour of the Teck Interpretive Centre. Sebastian Stephens of Rossland, who turns nine today, learned how the furnaces operate.

Trail resident Bella Whawell, 9, and her 12-year-old cousin Jane Stewart wheeled through Gyro Park last week. Stewart got a taste of West Kootenay weather while visitng from Surrey.
