• Sunday Cinema presents “Another Year,” a wry and affectionate character study of a group of middle-aged people as they move and interact through the four seasons of their lives. Royal Theatre, 4 p.m. $9.

• Corazon Ensemble is a high energy chorale of 65 Nelson and area youth singers known for their world music repertoire. Under the direction of Allison Girvan, they perform at the Charles Bailey Theatre, Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. $30, phone 368-9669 for more info.

• Pilotpilot Theatre and Rossland Council for Arts presents “Hello Baby!” a one-man comedy examining the pro-creative process from the point of view of Nelson actor Lucas Myers Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at the Rossland Miners Hall.

Health

•  A free open house on redefining beauty for young women will focus on self esteem, relationships and health for ages 12-18. Trail United Church, Sunday, 1-3 p.m. Bring friends, moms, grandmothers or any female support.

• World Day of Prayer at First Presbyterian Church, 1139 Pine Ave. Trail, Friday, 1:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “How Many Loaves Have You,” written by the women of Chile.

• Municipal Pension Retirees Association meets Monday, 10 a.m. at Trail Legion, lunch to follow, $10. Call 367-6229 before Feb. 28 to reserve.

• Residents are invited to come together to work on raising awareness regarding poverty issues in the Trail area on Monday at noon, Trail United Church. A meeting on Wednesday, same time and place, will focus on the need for decent, affordable housing.

• Trail and District Senior Publishers “Best Years” is holding its AGM will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Columbia View Lodge. Call 368-3984 for more info.

• Red Cross is hosting two workshops in Castlegar and Trail called “Creating Safe Environments for Children and Youth.” The Castlegar workshop will be Saturday at Selkirk College, and in Trail at the Selkirk College campus on Thursday, March 10.  Parents, grandparents, teachers, caregivers, coaches and youth leaders are encouraged to attend.

• Multi award-winning country artist Roy Clark brings his artistry and humour to Charles Bailey Theatre on Monday, March 14, 7:30 p.m., tickets $47.50.

• The West Kootenay Camera Club is taking entries for its 21st annual photo show competition until April 29. Categories include nature, human interest, photojournalism, creative images, flowers, open category, portraits, architecture and old. • Trail-Warfield Citizen of the Year 2010 nominations are being sought; deadline April 1. The award goes annually to a Trail or Warfield resident who has an outstanding record of community service. Nomination forms are available at City Hall, the Warfield village office, Trail and District Public Library, and Kootenay Savings Credit Union offices in Trail, Warfield and Waneta Plaza.
