Steve Earle coming to Kelowna

Legendary folk and rock artist to perform one show July 21 at Kelowna Community Theatre.

Steve Earle will perform in concert at Kelowna Community Theatre on Sunday, July 21, 7:30 p.m.

Earle is a 14-time Grammy nominee and three-time winner of the award.

Earle began his career in 1986 with his debut album Guitar Town and has since released some 13 albums. His first big hit single, Copperhead Road, remains a staple of classic rock radio.

Since Earle's emergence as a performer, his songs have been covered by various well-known artists, including Joan Baez, The Pretenders, The Proclaimers, The Highwaymen, Waylon Jennings, Emmylou Harris, Percy Sledge, Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt and many more.

Earle has also performed with an impressive list of people including Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Chris Hillman, Lucinda Williams,, the Indigo Girls, The Pogues, the Del McCoury Band,, Allison Moorer and a host of others.

Over the years Earle's songs have appeared in many major motion pictures and television including Dead Man Walking, The Horse Whisperer, You Can Count on Me, Moonshiners, Friday Night Lights, Talladega Nights, Brokeback Mountain, The Rookie, Treme, and Bridge to Terabithia just to name a few.

Earle is not only a talented singer-songwriter but is an author, actor, and playwright who plays guitar, mandolin, harmonica, banjo, bouzouki, and bass.
