Bear Country Kitchen in Rossland has generously donated $1,950 to the Orthopedic Enhancement Project, raising the funds during the annual Red Thursday event.

Red Thursday is an evening dedicated to shopping at Rossland's wonderful businesses and supporting the community.

This year marks the second time Bear Country Kitchen has partnered with the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) Health Foundation, turning the event into a meaningful annual fundraising tradition.

"A huge thank you to Bear Country Kitchen for matching all donations made that night, and to all the generous donors who contributed to the total amount raised," the KBRH Health Foundation shared. "Your continued support is making a real difference in transforming local healthcare."

The Orthopedic Enhancement Project addresses the growing need for specialized orthopedic care in the Kootenay Boundary region.

By acquiring additional equipment, KBRH aims to perform more surgeries and enhance the quality of orthopedic services available locally.

This initiative empowers patients to undergo complex procedures close to home, creating a meaningful impact for both individuals and healthcare providers in the region.

The foundation underscores the transformative effect of the new equipment, noting that 80 per cent of hip replacement patients at KBRH now return home the same day — a remarkable testament to its effectiveness.
