The Grand Forks Border Bruins completed a first-round sweep of the Beaver Valley Nitehawks with a 6–2 win on home ice.
Tyler Burke led the way with two goals, including the eventual game-winner that put Grand Forks up 3–1.
He finished with three points on the night. Ty Noseworthy also scored twice, and Nash Wassing added a pair of goals for the Bruins.
Levi Astill chipped in with three assists.
Beaver Valley’s night took an early hit when starting goalie Landan Uzeloc left the game injured just 7:32 in after stopping all three shots he faced.
Connor Stojan came in and made 25 saves on 31 shots.
Eric Kahl stopped 19 shots in the win for Grand Forks, who went 2-for-13 on the power play.
They finished the series 10-for-34 with the man advantage.
The Nitehawks went 1-for-8 on the power play in the loss.
