Collision shut down highway near Trail early Saturday

DriveBC reported two local collisions over the weekend that shut down the main highways.

A serious collision just outside of Trail shut down Highway 22 in both directions early Saturday morning.

DriveBC noted the vehicle incident occurred at Hanna Drive, four kilometres north of Trail, shortly after 3:30 a.m, June 8.

The highway remained closed for several hours.

Then, only minutes after midnight Sunday, June 9, DriveBC sent out an alert that Highway 3 was closed just outside of Salmo.

A collision between Opal Street and Arnold Road, three kilometres west of Salmo, closed the highway in both directions.

No detour was available.

The highway reopened two hours later.

The Trail Times has contracted the RCMP for details.

More to come.
