Trail photographer spots coyote cruisin’ the Columbia

Ron Wilson snapped a pic of this fella, or gal, walking along the road toward Casino.

Wilson was outside the Trail Legion when he spotted the coyote across the Columbia River.

Also known as the American jackal, prairie wolf, or brush wolf, the coyote is a species of canine native to North America.

The coyote is smaller than its close relative, the grey wolf, and slightly smaller than the closely related eastern wolf and red wolf.
