Looking for a fun and free way to celebrate Mother’s Day with the whole family?
Head to Gyro Park in Trail this Sunday, May 11, from noon to 3 p.m. for Family Day, a lively afternoon of creativity and entertainment.
Presented by the Trail Arts Council and the City of Trail’s Silver City Days, and sponsored by Benson Oil, the event promises something for everyone, especially mom.
Get creative: Help paint a brand-new mural led by acclaimed Okanagan/Syilx artist Sheldon Pierre Louis, or join the VISAC Art Gallery’s Arts and Crafts tent where kids can learn how to paint native plants with watercolour pencils, guided by local artist Melanie Mercier.
Sing and smile: Enjoy the quirky and energetic “Be A Rock Star” sing-along show by Molly’s Comedy Cabaret, happening at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
Play and explore: The Trail Family and Individual Resource Centre Society is running an obstacle course for the little ones. Face painting by Yarnia Craft Closet and a dunk tank from Teck’s Mining for Miracles will keep the laughs coming.
For mom: The Madhu Collective offers a relaxing “Zen Zone” with one-hour yoga sessions at noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.
And to make the day even sweeter, RE/MAX All Pro Realty will be handing out flowers to moms throughout the event.
With live art, music, yoga, food, and fun, Family Day at Gyro Park is a great way to enjoy Trail on Mother's Day.
Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and a sense of fun, the whole family is invited.
