I am really disturbed to hear that the City of Rossland is not renewing the lease for the Gold Fever Follies to use the Miner’s Hall for the summer of 2025.
The Follies are a great attraction for tourists and locals alike each summer re-living Rossland’s interesting past.
They give young actors a wonderful chance to perform and experience the feel of our historical stage.
None other like it around the area.
The Follies have entertained us for many years and have also helped financially to upgrade the hall.
Their stage sets are unique and built to fit perfectly there.
Even if a venue could be found at this late date, which I understand there is not, I feel that the whole production would not have anywhere near the same effect if they had to perform in a more modern space.
Because of so many newcomers coming to Rossland, are we losing the interest in Rossland’s wonderful history and traditions such as the Gold fever Follies?
I hope not.
Please help to keep the Follies in the Miners Hall for many years to come.
Thanks.
