PHOTOS: Big rigs roll into Castlegar

Hosted by Bill’s Heavy Duty, the event serves as a fundraiser for local scholarships

More than 63 big rigs were on display in Castlegar last weekend including some from as far away as Victoria, Quesnel and Grand Prairie, Alberta.

Close to 500 people either participated in or attended the parade and show and shine, both hosted by Bill's Heavy Duty.

The event is a combination of truck enthusiasm and fundraising. Enough money was raised at the event to fund the Bill Arishenkoff Trades Scholarship for two more years. The scholarship awards are $500 per recipient and there is one available for each of the 11 high schools in the region.
