On skips day off, it was time for the thirds to take the reins at Trail Retirees Curling.
Stan Trozzo for team Pasquali stole two in the second and four in the fifth end against team McKerracher, skipped by Bill Van Beek.
Serge Peloso, making his season debut at lead for team Pasquali, had a great game setting up each end. Make the final 10-2 in six ends for Pasquali.
Team Hall skipped by Tom McLachlan buried a rock early in each end, then guarded the heck out of it, against team Burke. Bobby Menin, skipping team Burke, had no answer for this strategy. The Hall side made the guards, and the Burke side just missing the double takeouts, led to a 6-1 victory for Hall after six ends.
Teams Noble and Walsh traded threes in the first two ends, and were tied at five after five. Noble took two in the sixth, and took control with a steal of three in the seventh. Going all out in the eighth team Walsh gave up a single in the eighth. The game was closer than score reflected.
Team Caron, skipped by Dan Ashman, had a 4-1 lead on team Drinnan skipped by Gary Secco, after two ends. Team Drinnan fought back and lead by one after five ends. Team Caron posted a single in the sixth to tie it up. A steal of two in the seventh and two more in the eighth gave team Caron the victory 9-5.
