As shown here in 1967, Rossland transformed into a snowy, fairy-tale wonderland during the Sno-Sho (now the Rossland Winter Carnival), with snow sculptures adorning yards across town.

These intricate designs showcased the creativity and talent of Rossland residents, adding a magical touch to the festivities.

Do you have a favourite past snow sculpture?

We’d love to hear about it — send your stories and photos to archives@rosslandmuseum.ca or call 250-362-7722.

Feeling inspired?

Join us at the Rossland Museum next weekend, Jan. 25 and Jan. 26, for our winter carnival activities, including a snowman-building competition.

Build any time Saturday or Sunday, we'll announce the winners after 4 p.m. Sunday.

We'll be open by donation all weekend with maple taffy, crafts for all ages, a campfire, our hair-raising toboggan hill, and our ever-popular snow maze.

Check out rosslandmuseum.ca/news/2025/carnival for the full schedule.
