Happy Thursday!
The March 13 edition of the Trail Times is hot off the press and available now at local newsstands.
Front and centre
The 6th Annual Smokies in Our School initiative has officially wrapped up, with nine participating schools selling game day tickets to fill the Cominco Arena on their designated nights for a chance to win a $5,000 USD donation from the Murphy Family Foundation.
Fruitvale Elementary School took first place, selling over 500 tickets and securing a $5,000 donation. As a bonus ticket-selling incentive for students, Principal Mike Page “took one for the team,” getting a pie to the face at centre ice on game night.
