David Dudeck shares his backyard photos, capturing the vibrant fall colours, with the bright blue feathers of a Steller’s Jay standing out against the fiery hues of autumn foliage.

Steller’s Jays (Cyanocitta stelleri) are known for their striking deep blue and black plumage, and their distinctive crested head.

They are native to western North America, commonly found in forests and mountainous regions.

Described as bold, intelligent birds, Steller's Jays are often seen scavenging for food or making their presence known with loud, raucous calls.

Their vibrant colouring and bold personalities make them a standout species among jays.
