The final day of BCHL Showcase action at the Abbotsford Centre saw the first-ever BCHL player to be granted exceptional status put on a show on Tuesday (Oct. 15) night.
Eli McKamey, the 15-year-old talent from Cowichan Bay, picked up a goal and an assist to earn player of the game honours as the Penticton Vees defeated the Okotoks Oilers 6-2 in the 7 p.m. game.
The Vees outshot the Oilers 54-35 in the win and are now 7-1 on the season.

GAME ONE: CRANBROOK BUCKS – 5 NANAIMO CLIPPERS – 2
The Bucks scored four unanswered goals over the final two periods after falling behind 2-1 midway through the second period to earn a 5-2 win.
Cranbrook got goals from Patrick Murphy (power play), Shane Baker (shorthanded), Rasmus Svartstrom, Bryce Sookro and Kaslo Ferner (power play). Bucks goalie Jaden Cholette made 21 saves for the win.

Sookro, Ferner and Tanner Fennell all had two-point nights for Cranbrook and the club improved to 7-1 this season.
Nanaimo had goals from Cole Lonsdale and Andrew Brown. The Clippers were out shot 34-23 in the contest and they drop to 3-4-1 on the season.

Nanaimo's Joel Plante and Cranbrook's Bryce Sookro were named players of the game.
GAME TWO: TRAIL SMOKE EATERS – 7 POWELL RIVER KINGS – 5
The highest scoring game of the day saw Trail explode for three goals in third to edge Powell River.
The Kings opened up a 3-2 lead after one, with the teams deadlocked 4-4 after two. Trail outscored Powell River 3-1 in the final frame to skate away with the win.

Trail had goals from Evan Sundar (two), Cash Carter, Attila Lippai, Gryphon Bucci, Lucas Lemieux and Jason Stefanek. Sundar led all Trail players with three points and was named the player of the game for his team.
Powell River's goal scorers included: Joel Purdom (two), Marek Beaudoin, Axel Lofgren and Tommy Karmiris. Powell River had the 32-22 shots edge. Purdom was named the Kings player of the game.

GAME THREE: BLACKFALDS BULLDOGS – 2 PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS – 1
The lowest scoring game of the day followed the highest scoring as Blackfalds edged Prince George 2-1.
Bulldogs goalie Waylon Esche turned aside 25 of 26 shots for the win, which was the first victory this season for Blackfalds.
The Bulldogs got goals from Jamie Darlison and Joey Melo. Prince George's Ethan Montroy scored the lone goal for the Spruce Kings.
Special teams were the difference in the game, as Blackfalds scored once with the man advantage and once shorthanded.

GAME FOUR: PENTICTON VEES – 6 OKOTOKS OILERS – 2
The Vees scored two goals in every period and went three for six on the power play to earn the win over Okotoks.
Penticton got goals from Brock Reinhart, Luke Posthumus, Eli McKamey, Max Heise, Ryden Evers and Landon Wright. Goalie Andrew Ness made 33 saves for the win.
Okotoks replied with goals from Brett Wilson and Otto Hanson.

McKamey was named the player of the game and collected two points and a roughing penalty. The 15-year-old was buzzing offensively for most of the night and had several good scoring opportunities.
