Crowe students help break the silence

A Vow of Silence at J. Lloyd Crowe brought forth a powerful response on Wednesday.

A Vow of Silence at J. Lloyd Crowe brought forth a powerful response on Wednesday.

A group of students that began so small in prior weeks leading up to the Vow transpired into 55 dedicated members.

Ella Meyer said that she wanted to talk but couldn’t.

“Without a voice, you feel helpless,” concluded the Grade 9 student. “I had nothing, no way to communicate. It was really hard.”

Crowe’s silence supported children who are denied their voice and their rights everyday.

“It’s something to be proud of if you can do it,” said Meyer “I wanted to step into their shoes a little bit, and see what it’s like.”

Together Crowe raised nearly $150 to donate to Free the Children and help break the silence worldwide.
