Nelson police have arrested a man they say was a fugitive from Manitoba.

Mason Buchner-Monkman was arrested at a residence by the Nelson Police Department, according to a March 27 statement.

NPD officers said they became aware of Buchner-Monkman, 24, being in the area several months ago and knew of several outstanding warrants for his arrest in Manitoba.

He is facing six counts of Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order in that province.

“Mr. Buchner-Monkman had come to the attention of the Nelson Police Department after receiving several complaints about him related to suspicious and concerning behaviours in our community,” said Sgt. Dan Markevich in a statement.

Markevich said Buchner-Monkman has been returned to police in Manitoba.
