Castlegar police arrested three people after a search warrant in the 1300 block of Columbia Avenue yielded suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine along with Canadian currency and other items consistent with the trafficking of illicit drugs.

Castlegar RCMP, with the assistance of police dog services, executed the search warrant on April 4.

According to a police statement, the search warrant was obtained to further a drug trafficking investigation.

In addition to the drugs, police say they located property that had recently been stolen from a Castlegar business.

A 47-year-old male, a 46-year-old male, and a 31-year-old female were taken into custody without incident, according to Castlegar RCMP.

All three were later released from police custody.

Police are continuing their investigation into the possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking along with possession of stolen property offences. They say the matter will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution Services of Canada for full charge assessment.
