Granite Pointe Golf Club will shut down in the spring for planned course renovations after all.
A spokesperson for Hallō Properties said Monday the overhaul of the 18-hole course is set to start, contradicting an announcement last week by Granite Pointe that the renos had been pushed back a year.
Granite Pointe previously announced Dec. 8 on Facebook that the two-year construction project by the American golf management company Troon was being delayed to 2026, but that post has since been deleted. The Nelson Star has asked the club for comment.
The redesign was made public in July at the same time Granite Pointe announced the sale of 17.5 acres of land for housing to Hallō Properties. Granite Pointe, a non-profit, will remain owners of the course but management will be led by Troon.
Canadian golf course architect Doug Carrick, whose company designed Vernon's Predator Ridge, is involved in the redesign.
