Accident nets tickets for both drivers

A Monday crash near Canadian Tire in Trail resulted in both drivers being issued tickets by police.

A Monday crash near Canadian Tire in Trail resulted in both drivers being issued tickets by police.

The police report stated that at approximately 10:30 a.m., a east-bound van on Highway 3B was in the left turn lane waiting for traffic to clear before turning on to Goodwin Way leading to Canadian Tire.

The light changed and the driver started to turn however his vehicle was struck by an oncoming, west-bound sedan that went through a red light.

Both vehicles suffered extensive damage. Meanwhile, the driver of the van had minor injuries and the elderly driver of the sedan was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the out-of-province van was issued a ticket for no insurance and the driver of the sedan was issued a ticket for disobeying a red light.
