Resident urges

village take action

After a number of Warfielders warned a Kelowna developer about drainage issues on their properties, one resident is reminding the village of its responsibility.

“I would suggest the long ongoing concerns with broken and or misdirected ground water collection piping that affects lower Montcalm are not of Mr. (Paul) Nesbitt’s responsibility, but are those of the village,” Jim Metzler wrote to council.

“The inaction by the village in addressing these concerns could cast questions about the village’s commitment and could be seen as a red flag by Mr. Nesbitt.”

The owner of a 17-acre property below the Sleeman subdivision and above Wellington Avenue and Montcalm made a presentation this month, searching for a response to his proposed condominium development.

Long-time residents concerned about traffic and drainage quickly put down his vision and sent him back to the drawing board.

Warfield will get in touch with Metzler for more information on which properties he is referring to in hopes of addressing his concerns, council decided last week.
