Cranbrook RCMP are investigating after a body was discovered in a vehicle in downtown Cranbrook overnight Sunday.

Shortly before midnight on April 13, police had blocked access to 10th Avenue between Baker Street and 1St Street South after they were alerted to the discovery.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic was re-opened by early Monday morning.

According to a news release, Cranbrook RCMP say they have become aware of a number of rumours circulating that are not consistent with the
circumstances.

Cranbrook RCMP request anyone with CCTV or dash cam video of the area over the weekend to call 250-489-3471.
