In Castlegar incumbent Lawrence Chernoff will face a challenge from Gord Zaitsoff for the mayor’s chair.
Meanwhile council will see five of the six incumbents vye for reelection – Kevin Chernoff, Kirk Duff, Russ Hearne, Deb McIntosh and Gord Turner.
Bernie Krueckl is the only member of the current council not to seek another term.
New faces joining the race for council will be Sue Heaton-Shertobitoff, Cord Lafond, Tyler Maddocks, Peter Wulowka and Dan Rye.
Vying for the two Castlegar roles as trustees for School District 20 are incumbent Bev Maloff, Jo-Ann Bursey and Jennifer Carter.
