A flowerbed created by volunteers was looking pretty sad Monday

Doggone it! Trail is investigating its footage of Jubilee Park after a security guard reported a game of fetch through a community flowerbed.

The city is reviewing Sunday night’s video between 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., in hopes of identifying the two men and women in the park at the time when the u-shaped bed was trampled on.

In the meantime, blooming volunteers have gone in and tidied the bed up.

“I wouldn’t really call it malicious vandalism, it’s kind of ‘come on you guys, you know better than that,’” said Dan Rodlie, CiB chair. “Maybe something will happen from it, I don’t know.”

Public works manager Larry Abenante said the city hasn’t really had any problems with its beautified spots, unlike in years past when flowerpots have been knocked over.

“When I first heard about it, I thought what people don’t have anything better to do with their time?” said Rodlie. “They can toss the ball anywhere else, they don’t have to do it in the friggin’ flower bed.”
