A quick response by Fruitvale firefighters stopped the spread of flames from a motor home to a private residence.

Regional Deputy Fire Chief Dan Derby says nine members from Company 6 (Fruitvale) were called out to a fire on Cedar Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

The motor home was destroyed in the blaze, but quick action prevented the fire from spreading to the home the vehicle was parked adjacent to.

No cause has been determined and no injuries were reported.

“Our members did a good job responding quickly to suppress the fire and stop it from spreading to the house,” said Derby. “Minimizing the damage to the residence and the surrounding property.”
