A grass fire spread in the ditch below the Willi Krause Fieldhouse on Tuesday afternoon as the wind picked up and fanned the flames throughout a 300-foot section. Five Kootenay Boundary Fire Rescue vehicles responded to extinguish the blaze quickly around 1:30 p.m. The origin of the fire was unknown.
