High angle rope used to rescue person injured near Trail shoreline

The patient was transported via ambulance to the hospital in Trail.

Firefighters were called to rescue a person injured near the Trail shoreline Saturday afternoon.

Deployment followed a 9-1-1 to Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue shorty after 1 p.m., March 4.

Seven firefighters from Station 374 Trail attended, and used an over-embankment rope rescue to retrieve the patient.

“Crews used the ladder truck with a high angle rope rescue,” reported Caption Jason Milne, clarifying the person was injured near the river shore beneath the Victoria Street Bridge.

The patient was transported via ambulance to the hospital in Trail.
