Meet the Candidates: Griff Welsh

Village of Montrose: Welsh, Griff – Mayor Candidate

  • Oct. 23, 2014 5:00 a.m.

I retired as supervisor with Petrocan after 30 years all the while helping my wife run a small retail hardware store for 20 years.

I spent nine years on Montrose Council three years as mayor and five years as Regional District representative  where I sat on many regional boards during my time.

The number-one challenge I see is bringing the community back into the loop by having two Town Hall meetings a year.

The outstanding issue here in Montrose is recreation, that needs to be resolved with accountability from all the participants Montrose, Fruitvale, Area A and Trail.
