Rossland Bear Aware will be focusing on electric fences at their workshop on Tuesday night, to keep those sometimes unwanted visitors out of gardens and yards.
“We’ve got someone coming down whose got a lot of experience working with electric fences as a great bear deterrent for gardens and fruit trees and general protection of livestock and property,” said Sharon Wieder, Bear Aware community co-ordinator.
Electric fencing is a new area Bear Aware is exploring, she added.
Discussions on composting and managing household garbage will also take place at the workshop, which will take place Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m. at the Trail Aquatic Centre.
Space is limited to 25 people, contact Weider at 250-231-2751 to register.
