Short power outage hits Greater Trail

About 3,250 FortisBC customers – some which live in Trail, Fruitvale and Salmo – experienced a short power outage at about 8:20 a.m.

An alarm clock may not have been so reliable in Greater Trail households Monday morning, as flashing clocks were a sure sign that the power went out.

About 3,250 FortisBC customers – some which live in Trail, Fruitvale and Salmo – experienced a short power outage at about 8:20 a.m.

“It was during routine switching so it looks like a switch failed and they then switched those lines over to an alternate power source,” explained FortisBC spokeswoman Nancy   MacLeod.

Power was back up just minutes after the outage.
