Trail Times announces publishing changes

As of next week, the Trail Times will no longer be printing a Monday edition, but fresh content will still be available on this site.

The Trail Daily Times has announced a major publishing change as of next week.

Beginning Oct. 1, the Times will no longer be printing a Monday edition.

The decision has been a tough but necessary one, explained Times publisher Barb Blatchford.

“The bottom line is it’s due to the economic climate – not the local but national trends.

“I want to stress that the support from local businesses is as strong as ever.”

However, declining revenue from national advertisers has forced the change in the printing schedule.

“The decision is a strong move to secure our longevity and economic viability in the community,” Blatchford added.

She explained that the change to end Monday printing will allow staff the man hours to continue to properly meet the demands of the Times online and print product.

For print subscribers, the Times will extend their subscription expiry date to compensate for the change.

However, there will be no impact to the online subscribers.

“We will continue to post news to our website daily,” said Blatchford.
