As the summer wears on the Warfield Centennial Pool is still empty and a work in progress.
Warfield recreation director, Teresa Mandoli, says the work is still underway but unfortunately not quite finished yet.
“They’re down to the second coat of the concrete surface treatment,” Mandoli said. “Then the surface has to cure before it can be painted.”
The reported $50,000 renovation of the popular summer spot has been held up by unfavourable weather conditions since spring but Village staff are hopeful it will be operational in the near future.
“It’s just taken a bit longer than expected,” said Mandoli. “We hope to be ready to go next week.”
