Wednesday is wellness day for Greater Trail seniors.

The Seniors’ Health and Wellness Institute is rolling out a series of free health and wellness workshops for area seniors at the Trail Aquatic and Leisure Centre starting Nov. 1.

The workshops provide valuable information to local seniors on a variety of subjects. The first deals with Social Connectedness and goes Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The workshop will focus on the impact loneliness and isolation has on one’s health and well-being.

“It helps participants determine the level of connectedness they need and how to achieve it,” read a release.

The next session goes on Wednesday, Dec. 6 with a focus on Frauds and Scams. Unfortunately, seniors will be give advice on how to thwart criminal actions and not become a victim of phone or online scams.

The final session in the rollout is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 7, and is titled “Knowing Your Bladder.”

The workshops offer practical and usable information and will be run by certified Council of Seniors Citizens’ Organizations (COSCO) facilitators.

The free workshops will go in the Multipurpose Room at the Trail Aquatic Centre from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the scheduled Wednesdays.
