Fire crews respond to montrose fire

Regional firefighters and members from Montrose and Fruitvale responded to a house fire at 650 9th Avenue in Montrose Wednesday at about 10 a.m. The fire, which started on the upper floor and worked its way to the attic, was doused about 45 minutes later. The owners of the home were out running daily errands during the blaze, according to regional fire chief Terry Martin, who adds the cause of the fire is under investigation.
