LEVICK, A.E. (Ellie) – a long-time resident of Shaver’s Bench, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2013 at Columbia View Lodge. Ellie was born on December 15, 1909 in Kaslo, BC.

Ellie grew up in the Kaslo area calling Meadow Creek, Ainsworth, Pilot Bay and Nelson home. She moved to Shaver’s Bench and lived in the same house from 1932 until her move to Columbia View Lodge in 2009.

Ellie was a bookkeeper and she worked for her two sons at Bryan’s Transfer for most of her career. She was also employed at Cominco and United Trucking. She was a long-time member of Cub Mothers and was involved with Brownies and Guides.

Ellie is survived by her children, Fin (Marg), Wayne (Marilyn) and Elsbeth (Charles) Ellis, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Morley Levick (WW II), her parents John (Jack) and Agnes McCallum, her siblings Mary Bryan, Emily McPherson, Annie Brown and Charles Donaldson, her grandson Randy Levick and her niece Maizie Zinio.

The family would like to thank the Columbia View Lodge staff and Dr. E. McCoid for their dedicated care of Ellie for the last three years.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ellie’s name may be made to the Columbia View Lodge Recreation Department at 2920 Laburnum Drive, Trail, BC V1R 4N9.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #11, Trail, BC with Reverend Ken Siemens officiating. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
