Known by friends and family as "Banjo", Banjo grew up on the lower mainland, worked at sawmills on Vancouver Island then moved in land to Salmo where he drove truck; ended up in Warfield and worked at Cominco, retired from there and then continued working as a carpenter.
Over the years he has built homes in Mission, Cobblehill, Victoria, Trail and area, Proctor, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
He was especially proud of his job as a trim sawyer on the Island and that he was part of the construction of the bridge in Nelson, and that he hauled explosives to help clear the Hope Slide. He also won awards for his industrious ideas at Cominco. He could literally do anything and everything.
A brilliant hard working man who loved his family and was dedicated to providing for them. He made many life-long friends along the way.
