July 8, 1946 – May 14, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with profound grief and sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Leroy Nelson, age 75, on May 14, 2022.
Albert now joins the love of his life Carol (Reuter) to whom he was married for 46 years. He was also preceded by his parents Atle and Bertha and brothers Gilbert, Toby, Addy and Dick. Left to cherish his memory is his brother Ted Nelson (Lori) and brother-in-law Bob Reuter (Sharon), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.
Albert was born July 8, 1946 in the Old Trail Hospital. He was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold, never hesitating to help people or his community out. No one will forget his long-winded stories and his wide smile. Albert had a big soft spot for animals and his pockets frequently held dog treats.
Albert spent his life working and tinkering at the family business, Atco Lumber. He loved his electronics and radios and was never far from a set of wires or antennas. He was a self-taught avid photographer and his pictures grace many albums and walls.
Albert and Carol were inseparable, taking joy in travelling together, attending music concerts, and spending time at the lake.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Albert’s memory may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Foundation (Oncology Department) at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca or to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation at 938 W 28th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4H4 or online at www.bcchf.ca or the BC SPCA at www.spca.bc.ca
A private Graveside Service will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Rossland with Gwen Ziprick, Celebrant. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family’s online register at www.myalternatives.ca.
