Alexander Robert â??Sandyâ? Mann

Mann: Alexander Robert “Sandy” of Trail, BC passed away at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on June 4, 2011.

Sandy is survived by his wife and true love, Gayle Mann; his mother Maisie Mann; his sister Sharon (Pete) Young, his children; Susan (Cam) Fraser, Brian (Sabine) Mann, Kurt (Lori) Mann Shelly Aro, 14 grandchildren and baby Abby. He was predeceased by his father “Bob” Mann and nephew Christopher Young.

He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on June 8, 1942. He was employed by Canada Post until his retirement in 2000. He was an avid Trail Smokies fan and donated his time to Kate’s Kitchen, The Salvation Army Thrift Store and the KBRH gift shop, where he also was a TV coordinator and part of the Christmas appeal. He devoted much of his time to the Salvation Army and the Hosptial Auxiliary.

Sandy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his retirement years to helping those in need. He enjoyed life and found pleasure in bringing a smile to everyone’s face. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Salvation Army Church on June 10, 2011 at 11:00 am. Bill Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” has been entrusted with arrangements.
