Alfred Wishneski, (Wischnewski), September 13, 1923 – September 11, 2011.

Born and raised in Bellevue, Alberta “Alf” as he was known to friends and family, started working in the coal mines at an early age. He met and married his wife Margaret in the area and they started their lifelong journey together. As their family grew, they moved to Trail and Alf was employed by what is now Teck, where he worked until his retirement in 1981.

Alf came from a large family and was predeceased by his parents August & Wilhelmina Wischnewski, his loving wife Margaret (Hollingshead), his sisters Frieda Wishneski, Anne Wishneski, Martha Cronie, and Lizzie Rushton, and his son-in-law Harvey Bruggencate. Alf is survived by his sons Fred Wishneski, Bob (Linda) Wishneski and daughter Marion Bruggencate, his brother Bill Wishneski, grandchildren Dawn (Gerry) Ellingson, Laurie (Brad) Bell, Barbara Ward, and Sheri (Jason) Kniert, and eight great grandchildren that he cherished. There are also many nieces and nephews that he always spoke fondly of.

Special thanks for the professional and compassionate care received from Dr. Trevor Aiken, Riverside Medical Centre, and Neighborhood Nursing Home Care.
