In Loving Memory ~
Bob was born on August 23, 1943, in Smithers, BC and passed to his eternal rest on August 17, 2023, in Trail, BC.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Williams, and his loving wife of over 55 years Kathleen.
Bob is survived by his son Greg, and daughter Allison, as well as his two granddaughters Alexis (Cody) and Kate (Kris), and three great-grandchildren Lilith, Mazikeen, and Melody.
In addition, Bob left behind his sisters Anne-Marie, Alice, Sharon, and Judy, and brothers Ken (Charlotte) and Ron (Katherine), along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
My father. He left school early to work and did many an adventurous thing in his youth and young adulthood, from helping his father prospect to ski jumping. He came south in the mid-60s, finding himself in Kimberley where he found employment with Cominco, and my mother.
Married in 1966, the young couple moved to Trail. My father became a Millwright in the early 70's and worked for Cominco for 37 years.
Even in the face of his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in the late 70's my father was always active. He liked to build and fix. He introduced my sister and I to skiing. When we tried out a sport or club, he was always willing to lend a hand.
With him and my mother, we travelled all over to camp during the summers. As my sister and I got older the sports and camping declined but my father continued to fix, to build, to help. And he never stopped until the end.
My father was a man of faith. For many years he was deeply involved with the Catholic Church and made lifelong friends in the process. In fact, my father's ability to strike up a friendship with anyone brought him lifelong friends at school, work, and the church.
Ultimately though, my dad was all about his family. He cared deeply for us all. Even with failing health, he thought that seeing his great-granddaughters was the greatest gift. And we will miss him with all our hearts.
At Bob's request, a small private service will be held on a future date. Kole Roth of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, your donations made in Bob's memory to MS Canada (www.mscanada.ca) would be appreciated.
