It is with broken hearts and great sadness that the family of Alvise Della Siega announces his passing on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the age of 88. Alvise passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Alvise was born on August 31, 1931 in Mussons, Morsano, al Tagliamento, Udine, Italy. He immigrated to Trail in 1956. He married his loving wife, Elisa in 1958 and together they raised four children.
Upon arriving to Trail, Alvise began his career with Fame Brick Construction and then joined the Cement Finisher Crew at Cominco. He was well known for his extraordinary skills and talent as a cement finisher. His handiwork is still very visible in the home that he built for his family. He was an extremely hardworking man and he inherited these strong work ethics from his father. Alvise was always willing to help family members, friends or a neighbour in need. His generosity will be remembered by many. Alvise retired from Cominco in the spring of 1992 with 30 years of service.
In his spare time, Alvise enjoyed gardening, fishing, bocce and playing card games with his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid hockey fan, watching every NHL hockey game that he could. He also took great pride in the appearance of his yard, which included caring for his many flowers and his vegetable garden. Alvise really enjoyed his casino trips with his wife Elisa. He also loved spending time with his family as they were his pride and joy. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and nonno by his family.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 61 years Elisa, children: Ivy (Gabe), Lynne (John), Robert and Glen; grandchildren: Jeanine, Nadine, Christine, Anthony, Thomas, Danielle and Addisyn; his three siblings in Italy and numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paolo of Trail.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude for the wonderful care and professionalism that the medical team and support staff provided to our father at the Kootenay Boundary Reginal Hospital.
A special thank you to Dr. A. Cihal and Dr. M. Halstead for the special attention our dad received from them. Your extreme kindness and compassion shown to our family in our time of sorrow and loss will never be forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:30 am with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
