Amy Frances McKenzie (nee Bond)

McKenzie, Amy Frances (nee Bond) was born on October 10, 1923 in Trail, BC to John Henry Bond and Minnie Doris Bond (nee Johnson), passed away at home in Fruitvale on March 1, 2015.

Amy is predeceased by her infant twin daughters; Frances Eileen and Leslie Carol, Janice Diane Tinant-Brown, and husband Alastair Stephen McKenzie, her sister Doris Partridge and brother-in-law Bill Partridge, her in-laws Matilda and James McKenzie, Barbra Rose and Hugo Ramsden Woods, Elsie Murdoch and James Sandhorn, as well as James and Jean Lucille McKenzie.

She is survived by her children; Douglas and Lyn of Langley, BC, Lorne of Vancouver, BC, Valerie and Eric, son-in-law Jim Brown of Fruitvale, BC, grandchildren; Barry and Kerry, Tina and John, Adrienne and Chris, Jessica and Kelly, Alastair, Aaron and Cory Lee, step-grandchildren; Robyn and Dustin, Karlin and Colleen, Sherrie and John, and Steve, her great-grandchildren; Callum Meaghan, Lillia, Hartlei, Samantha, Callum, Jacc, Madilynn, Maggie, James, Grace, Bentley, and Brendan. Amy is also survived by her youngest sister Barbara, also Fran Pargeter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service and gathering will be planned for July. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

Our mother was a long-time member of the Trail Visac and surely enjoyed her days with her painting friends.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Amy’s name may be made to the SPCA at 7700 3B Hwy, Trail, BC, V1R 4X2 for mom loved her dog Pepper or to the BC Cancer Foundation at 150-686 West Broadway St., Vancouver, BC, V5Z 9Z9 for mom was a 21-year breast cancer survivor.
