December 2, 1934 - December 11, 2019
Peacefully and surrounded by his loving family, Andrew John Porter passed away on December 11, 2019 in Trail, B.C. Andy was born in Vancouver, B.C. on December 2, 1934 to parents Mary and Andy.
Andy grew up in Trail and started his career as a butcher working for his Uncle. He moved to Kaslo in 1956 where he met the love of his life Betty (Aldous). They were married in 1957. Andy and Betty owned and operated Eric's Meat Market for 40 years before passing the torch to their son Doug. After retirement Andy enjoyed doing woodworking projects, trips with family and watching sports.
Andy and Betty often made the 4 hour round trip from Kaslo to Trail to watch their grandsons play hockey or baseball. His grandsons were his pride and joy.
Andy will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love of life, family and all the people he met along the way. He welcomed everyone to his home and would most likely offer them a beer!
