In loving memory ~
Anne, sadly, passed away at Rosewood Manor on January 10th, 2023.
Born in Preston, England in 1939, she grew up in a large family in the shadow and sirens of the Second World War. She received her nurse's training before immigrating to Canada, arriving to work in Northern Alberta in the early sixties. As job opportunities opened up in the Kootenays, she moved to Trail, where she met Gordie Pisacreta, and they were married in August of 1965.
She and Gordie raised three very busy boys, born between '66 and '69. She was a soccer, boy scout, swimming, and gymnastics mom, and even ventured into change rooms to tie many hockey skate laces. She spent most of her career in the Emergency Dept. of Trail Regional Hospital, retiring as head nurse, and followed that with volunteering with the Hospice Society.
She loved to read, knit, sing, and play cards and board games with the very many friends she and Gordie had accumulated over the years through her avid involvement with the Catholic Church and other volunteer and social opportunities. She was very active with the Church Choir, and Youth Group and as a Eucharistic Minister. She loved to travel to visit family and with friends to participate in the many religious retreats and conferences, she enjoyed so much.
Anne is survived by her three sons: Greg (Sherry) in Medicine Hat, Mike (Kim) in Trail, and John (Marnie) in Burnaby, with two grandchildren, Olivia, and Molly. She leaves her siblings Mary and Frank in England. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordie, back in 2005.
The family would like to thank everyone at Rosewood Manor for their care of her through her battle with the debilitating effects of Alzheimer's and all her beloved friends who visited and supported her, especially, over the last few years.
She was a loving person, was loved, and will be missed.
A Prayer Vigil will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16th, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 17th, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant.
